Dancing Can Open Doors For a Child’s Cultural Development

The ratings indicate one of the biggest forces sweeping the nation is Latin and Ballroom Dancing!  “Dancing With The Stars” continues to be a huge hit with all ages and most adults, kids and teens!  All ages sit in front of the TV fascinated by the fun, fitness and glamour of the ballroom world.

Ballroom dancing is an art that requires partner dancing. Kids train with other kids to learn how to dance and work with the opposite gender in a mature and respectful manner.  Other benefits include improved muscle coordination, mental focus, social interaction, confidence and posture.  Ballroom dancing is a truly positive lifestyle change and is enjoyed both socially and competitively around the world.  Immediate benefits include fun, friendship, and structured learning.  Dancing opens doors for a child’s cultural development and pure form of happiness.

Contestants with ballroom dance training on “So You Think You Can Dance” score higher with dance resumes that have partnership dancing added to their backgrounds of hip hop, tap, jazz, and ballet.

Ballroom dancing is an art where people express the feel, beauty and characteristics of music using their dance skills.  Students learn good leading or following techniques, foot placements, various dances, and posture.  Kids develop balance, form, and sensitivity.

Call around and enroll your child into a Junior Latin and Ballroom Dance program. Many studios offer after-school programs and private lessons for children of middle school age or older, with discounts for multiple children.  Parents, typically, your small dancer will start their first lesson feeling afraid and embarrassed (as do many adults) and end the lesson by telling their parent(s) they enjoyed the lesson.  They learn faster than adults and remember routines easier. Give your children an opportunity to experience and grow through ballroom dancing.  Some parents discovered dance privileges will work as an incentive and reward mechanism for academic achievements.Call your local dance studio to learn about junior dance programs available. Offer your child something that could make an immediate change in their life and yours too.
