As a New York Times Bestselling Author for his book, Billion Dollar Smile¸ Dr. Bill has donated 100% of the proceeds to children’s charities. But more specifically, he has worked with Garth Brooks’ Teammates for Kids Foundation throughout the years to help raise more than $30 million for Smiles for Life – a non-profit organization dedicated to helping seriously ill and underserved children around the world. Between March – June each year Dr. Bill’s company, Discus Dental (makers of Zoom! teeth whitening), donates the whitening supplies and particpating dentist donate their time, resulting in 100% of the proceeds going directly to help children worldwide…and giving Americans another reason to smile!
In addition to Smiles for Life, Dr. Bill also Co-Founded, The LEAP Foundation – a non-profit organization designed to help high school and college students across the country learn valuable life skills to help them get ahead in life. Held at UCLA each summer, the organization offers students scholorships to learn skills such as time management, first impressions, etiquitte for success, interview skills and effective communication through seminars and mentorships. Dr. Bill recently had his head shaved on the Emmy Nominated daytime talk show, “The Doctors,” after vowing to shave his head if donors could raise more than $100,000 for LEAP…they raised $121,000!Founded in 1972, Friends of the Family is a comprehensive family resource center known for pioneering innovative, practical programs where families are recognized as central to a child’s well being and are supported to build on their skills and strengths.
